2015 Brecon Albarino

One of our signature wines. The previous vintage achieving semi-cult status in 2015 scoring 96pts twice in two days. These wonderfully crisp yet aromatic food wines have their homeland in the plateaus of Northern Spain where the best examples, like Brecon’s, come from within just a couple of miles of the coast. In California, marine fogs cool the grapes, resulting in a long ripening period, super intense flavors and aromatics. The tropical complexity / richness was so intense in 2015 we deftly melded in just 10% Albarino from the Jack Ranch to ensure the varietally correct citrine characters were suitably enhanced.

2015 Brecon Cabernet Franc

When you have Paso’s oldest Cabernet Franc vineyard, there is little point in running around trying to find an alternate with greater tannin or color intensity. You would be sorely missing the point.  The old vines have way more complexity. Try closing your eyes as you imbibe! We, by default, have a duty of care to showcase the complexity emanating from these venerable old vines.

2015 Brecon Conviction Grenache Blanc Viogner

Best of both worlds in a glass!. Here you get the crisp refreshing approachability of a super premium Grenache Blanc deftly melded with a pair of super aromatic sundrenched Viogniers. In essence Adelaida Viognier without an accompanying cloying oiliness. In time expect stone fruit flavors to dominate, such as nectarines and peaches, while clean citrus characters currently shine through. Wonderfully layered aromatics, superb color and a very intriguing palate. It's the consummate al fresco food wine.

2015 Brecon Grenache

100% from the iconic Glenrose Vineyard. In other words it’s one of those sought after single vineyard offerings. Now, before you ask, there is absolutely no Syrah in there.  It’s so rich that we will of course forgive you in thinking there was. However the actual varietal percentages are 77.2% Grenache, 22.8% Mourvedre.

2015 Brecon Reserve Petite Sirah

Just a morsel, a dash, a pinch, or a drop in the bucket or, as a dinky di Australian would say, we made absolutely “Bugger All” (just seven barrels!); it’s quintessentially the dog’s bollocks (in the “when it comes to Italian opera, Pavarotti is the dog's bollocks” sense of the word.). P.S. The B word is apparently not in the US dictionary so perhaps we can get away with it here. The sex pistols did!

2015 Brecon Tempranillo

Timing is everything. Brecon swooped in on these super ripe grapes at the close of harvest 2015. Apparently the result of a delayed real estate deal. It was just something to have a little fun with, throw some wacky winemaker techniques at and lock away in barrel for a couple of years.  Games continued prior to bottling with, 10.3% Brecon Cab, 2% Brecon Petit Verdot, and 2% Glenrose Syrah deftly melded in. Enjoy what is surely a memorable one-off for Brecon.

2015 Brecon True Acacia Head Albarino

Brecon introduces a New! New! Wine Style… This feisty Central Coast Albarino is the latest addition to our family! The use of barrels with Acacia heads adds structure and enhances floral notes without the toastyness or vanillins associated with oak. It's certainly food friendly, refreshing, more in the grapefruit flavor spectrum with white peach overtones.

By the way, there are around 800 known species of true acacia. The Acacia used in barrels is not one of them. We just liked the name!

2015 Brecon Zinfandel, Central Coast

Powerful enough to satisfy even the most ardent followers of cult Zinfandels. Everything you would expect: opulent jammy fruit, toasty oak, dry-grown hilltop vineyards, underlying black & white pepper, Tempranillo. Wait what?. Tempranillo! Yes, in one of our less lucid moments we added 14.3 % to firm up the ageability and, you know what? It bloody well works a treat! (Excuse the Australianism)
