2022 Brecon Albarino (Best in Show!)
All citreen, with crisp fresh limes dominating the palate. Refreshing, yet the finish is surprisingly rich with a softness and biscuity toastiness.

Production notes
Albariño is one of the crisper aromatic varieties. We do all we can to capture these aromatics with long, slow, icy cold ferments. Our yeast choice is vital and the light fluffy lees component remains in the tank until the last minute. This enables us to stir these lees biweekly giving a rich, toasty and shortbread-like blending component that further complements the mouthwatering acidity.

The first of its kind–this bottling is excitedly part of the brand new SLO Coast AVA. This AVA better reflects how close Brecon’s chosen Albariño vineyards are to the crashing waves of the Pacific. You can even catch a few waves or glasses of wine during your lunch break. Interestingly, the best European Albariño’s are also grown close to the coast in their native Spain and Portugal. The “SLO Coast” Albarino vineyards Brecon sources from are, on average, a mere 1.9 miles inland and have a uniquely intense flavor profile. One could speculate that this derives from the seemingly endless growing season aided by the cooling marine fogs.
